Review of the implementation of the agreed conclusions from the forty-seventh session of the Commission on the Status of Women: Report of the Secretary-General

[This is a prototype using the 2018 report as an example.]

The present report reviews and assesses the extent to which Member States have implemented the agreed conclusions from the forty-seventh session of the Commission on the Status of Women on “Participation in and access of women to the media, and information and communication technologies and their impact on and use as an instrument for the advancement and empowerment of women”. The report summarizes the progress, gaps and challenges relating to action taken at the national level in implementing the agreed conclusions.

The current review takes place against a rapidly changing environment in information and communications technology and media, and subsequent to the World Summit on the Information Society and its review, as well as the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The report reflects on related normative developments and actions around their implementation and emerging issues.
