ONU Femmes a octroyé plusieurs subventions aux communautés du Kirghizistan pour accroître la sécurité des femmes rurales. Cette galerie photos montre comment ces subventions peuvent aider les communautés. Parmi les projets subventionnés figurent un centre de collecte de lait qui permet aux fermiers locaux de gagner plus d'argent en vendant à de plus larges distributeurs; des machines qui permettent aux fermiers de moudre et nettoyer le grain localement, d'augmenter la production tout en diminuant les contraintes ; l'agrandissement d'une boulangerie qui offre une meilleure nutrition pour les écoliers et des emplois pour les femmes ; la rénovation d'une maternelle ; des infrastructures destinées à un centre de soins pour personnes gées, de la nourriture pour les personnes gées à risque, et du matériel d'atelier pour un centre d'artisanat qui emploie des femmes issus de familles à revenus modestes.

En 2010, ONU Femmes et des collectivités locales ont organisé conjointement des ateliers de formation sur l'égalité des sexes et les services d'agriculture. Ces ateliers étaient destinés aux dirigeants des fermes coopératives au Rwanda. Cette formation a incité les dirigeants à réfléchir sur les besoins des femmes fermières, à élargir leurs systèmes d'adhésion pour y inclure plus de femmes, à augmenter la représentation des femmes au sein des structures de prise de décision, et à donner la priorité aux femmes membres les plus vulnérables. Cette galerie retrace les visites rendues en 2011 à la coopérative de café «Cocamu Coffee Cooperative » et à la coopérative fermière «Ibyiza Birimbere farmer's cooperative ». Elle met en évidence l'impact positif de ces nouvelles pratiques.
